The technology is infrared. Thanks to the infrared rays, you can avoid touching the dispenser. Bringing your hands under the sensor will detect a temperature difference compared to the initial one and activate the dispenser.
So, it’s just the simple gesture of putting your hands under the sensor to get the soap. The proper distance to activate the device varies according to the model, but is usually 2 – 2.5 inches from when the sensor is activated. The soap will be dispensed after about 0.2 – 0.5 seconds.
It is important to note that the soap is dosed at each dispensing to limit its waste: the dispensers are often equipped to adjust the quantity of liquid to be dispensed and the dispensing speed. Furthermore, once dispensing is complete, the valve closes to avoid unnecessary dripping or dispersion of soap.
